Descending Fire 21,
*It wasn't long after dawn that Blood Coil arrived at the manse in Bezair, and it was only then that she realized it might be too early. So instead of waking everyone up at an ungodly hour, she decided to take a look around and see if there was some sort of training facility worth checking out. The loud sounds of a number of people training brought the near-adult around to where Dal was training his soldiers and she stopped as soon as she saw them.
She couldn't help herself, after all, the vision in front of her was surprisingly overwhelming. A golden god stood against a backdrop of the stretching rays of the sun, its yellow fire illuminating the scene in her mind so that the powerful, muscled man who gave orders was the only thing she could see. Heat rose in her and Blood Coil found herself unable to move forward or run away, and she was disturbed that retreating had even come to mind. What was going on with her?...*

*The troops were starting to shape up, he was thinking to himself, he had been investing more time in them and he himself had begun learning how better to train large groups for combat. The troops were working in the fields performing an odd service for the harvesters. Apparently they were working out in various ways with the bushels of grain while transporting them some distance to stow them on wagons. Just another part of the morning regimen.*
"Good news laddies, you're moving these oats around so efficiently this morning we will just have to make up the extra time by running a lap around the city today! Part of which you will be swimming of course."
*His deep voice boomed clear and strong in the open fields, stifling the sound of the group groaning with the news, but non dared the idea of slowing down for if this was a reward, what would punishment be in addition? Dal glanced over at the stiffly standing girl some distance away thinking to himself that it was a little too early for most spectators. She seemed to have the look of a fighter about her but she wasn't one of his, so he continued on drilling his troops while ignoring her as just another spectator, early as she may be.
He opened a water skin and drank, then poured some of the cool fluid over his head sending beads of glittering sunlight through the air, while the rest trickled down his shirtless torso.*

Descending Fire 21,
*Blood Coil's eyes widened at the sheer provocativeness of the gesture. Her eyes followed the droplets of light as they coursed down his physique in tiny, glinting rivulets. Her face turned scarlet and her gaze darted up to his face to see if he was looking at her again*
Pasiap give me strength!
*her young girl-heart pounded so loudly in her ears she was sure he could hear it from there, and she took a step forward but halted awkwardly mid-step, indecision rooting her to the ground. She stood there like a confused Earth Dragon statue, her arm going to cover up the toned muscle of her bared midriff and she found herself wondering if she was too manly with all of her exposed strength. Of all the times that she wore a sleeveless top that didn't cover her belly. At least she was wearing loose pants to hide her contoured legs.. Maybe he was into strong girls.. That would be nice, and probably too easy. Ugh! What should she do?*

*Dal wasn't looking at the girl anymore however, he simply paced beside the ranks of men working occasionally shouting out tough encouragements like 'move your ass!' or criticizing remarks about their exercise forms. He saw the young girl fidgeting again from the corner of his eye. He became suspicious of her presence and behavior and activated the hearthstone that was mounted in the white jade necklace around his neck to see anything she might be hiding.
His eyes glowed with a faint golden light and his cast mark glittered gently in the morning sun as he flashed her another glance and realized she had the essence of a dragon. Without the aid of the stone he could clearly see that she seemed to be in some kind of distress. He turned to her again, this time much more directly than any time before and shouted.*
"Something the Admiral can help you with young Earth Dragon?"

Descending Fire 21,
Ah! Uh, n-no!
*his voice seemed to free her from stillness and she lurched forward a step, her leg pivoting instinctively to keep her balance*
My name is Blood Coil and I am a Child of Pasiap. I am seventeen cycles old and I am undefeated on the streets of Creation. My blood swirls slowly like a sandtrap. Admiral Solar Dal'Lumen Sir.. do you.. uh...
*her mind was racing as her voice called out all of her achievements and qualities she considered important for a potential relationship to know. Her tone was clear and loud, louder than she had intended, but she somehow managed not to sound as self-conscious as she felt. Until the end, at least*
I, uh.. umm... Please go to dinner with me!

*He raised an eyebrow at the blurting dragon blood, not sure exactly what her problem was. Why in malfeas was she talking about her blood swirling, he assumed she was sent by Ress to be given an assignment.*
"Ok... Welcome to Beziar Blood Coil, as you seem to already know I am Admiral Dal'Lumen Zenith Cast priest of the Unconquered Sun.
You're the first Earth Dragon Ress has sent to me, as I understand most of your kind don't feel comfortable operating on boats or in so close a proximity with deep water. If it is your way to discuss your assignment over dinner that can be arranged... You're welcome to come by my manse again tonight, or there are also several restaurants of quality within my city."
*He wondered why she didn't just talk to him here and now, he wasn't going to insult her traditions by questioning them so he felt it better to just go along with them.*

Descending Fire 21,
*all she heard was "you can come by my manse tonight" and she grinned widely, though the way her muscles were used to working it came out as a bright smirk. All of this high emotion was getting to her and she rose up on the balls of her feet before nodding and turning around to go see if she could find something flattering to wear. Butterfly was a girl, maybe she could help her*
Okay! See you tonight! Be ready for me!
*Be ready for me? What in Malfeas did that mean? Dragons, he probably thought she was crazy. Tonight, she promised herself, she would be calmer. Until then, she ran off to find the Air Aspected girl she had moved with*

*He stood there looking magnificently confused as she ran away from him. Based on her unusual behavior he wondered if she only came to him by some mistake, perhaps she had gotten lost or confused when Ress had told her where to go and what to do. He waved his hand as she sped away.*
"Err... Ok, I will be?"
*He quirked his eyebrow and turned back around to attend to his troops, going back to his own exercises of hauling the heaping carts intended to be pulled by oxen to the edge of town to be collected by the merchants, and mill workers.*

Descending Fire 21,
*as evening approached and the sun lowered behind the buildings and hills, Blood Coil approached the Bezair manse, looking radically different from before. She was wearing a pair of black leather pants tucked into brown boots. She had changed her top so that it just hinted at her midriff, her belly button peeking out as she moved. A vest went over the billowy-armed white shirt, the arms sporting gentle openings along the tops of her biceps and forearms. Her short hair was up and the few loose hairs fell in front of her face, giving it a softer, more feminine look. Butterfly had applied a light tint to Blood's lips and gave her eyes a smokey look. She had on a strip of brown cloth as a choker to match the vest and boots, and even with the makeover her stomach fluttered around nervously.
She knocked on the door and waited, looking much more patient and collected than she had earlier that day*

*Dal had not for a moment considered his own attire for the night, the extent of his wardrobe was usual other than its color, he had however gone as far as to take a bath and put on a clean set, what he had been wearing earlier was drenched in sweat from a long days work. He wore his frilly white silk armor shirt under a dark blue southern style open chested shirt with gold leafy trims and pants of the same fabric tied up by a gold sash. Apparently whoever it was that had been making all of his clothing from the silk in his caravan had either tired of making the same thing, run out of the red fabric of the same style, didn't know how to make anything else, or all of the above. With that he had come fully decked out in his artifice wear such as his Orochalcum bracers, white jade amulet, and perfected boots, his Axes however stayed behind.
When he heard the knock on the door and saw scales bolt for the door as she usually did he stood up and answered it, the large feathered serpent peaking at blood from under his arm.*
"Ah, you're here, well come on in... Dinner will be ready shortly so we can get down to business in the meantime."
*This phrase down to business came out innocently, he had no idea what it might imply with what this girl really had in mind. He raised his arm, offering Blood free passage into his home. He noted that she appeared to have dressed up for the occasion and wondered if she was not so much here as a warrior to join his ranks as perhaps some sort of physically fit professional here to talk about infrastructure.*
"Please sit and relax, make yourself at home."

Descending Fire 21,
*the abruptness of his comment made Blood Coil take a mental double-take, and she frowned inwardly as she decided whether or not she had wanted something physical so fast. She bit her lip but decided that maybe Butterfly had a point, and she should take a step back and pay more attention. Blood Coil laughed nervously, but ran a hand through her hair and shook it off, she never got nerves before a fight and she wasn't going to allow herself that problem with a date. Even if it was her first*
Okay, so.. business... what kind of traits are you looking for in a mate?
*she took a seat somewhere that she could give him the option to sit next to her or across from her, figuring that since she could never be taken for a whore with the fighting scars and her physique, he must be talking about the part of first dates Butterfly had called an interview*

*Dal felt like he was going to fall over on his ass after this question. Fortunately a thousand comforts lounge was there to catch him. He couldn't seem to make sense of what she had just said. Had the Emperor sent this young girl here investigate his sexual preferences - if so what in creation for!Was this some sort of near birthday joke, was he being offered this girl like some kind of Imperial handout... that didn't seem like Ress' style. His brain strained against these impossible questions, and on the outside his face twitched making him look as if he were having a small seizure. He didn't know if he should laugh or shit his pants.*
"Uh... Whu? Hah... uhm. I'm sorry I seem to be confused as to why Ress sent you to me? Why does he want to know such a thing?"

Descending Fire 21,
What? Ress didn't send me.. I came by for our date. Did I miss a message from him? Damn, I have no idea how to use that intercom thing. Should I call him? It would only take a minute, so it won't interrupt dinner
*Blood Coil's face touched with concern, then she blushed a little at the rest of his question from before*
I asked so we could get to know each other better. If a match is more appealing, I can still spar in this
*she smiled a bit, then, trying not to think what Flickering Buttterfly would do to her for ruining these clothes*

*Dal was stunned, how had he managed to end up on a date while the whole time misinterpreting the situation. He had become so used to staying away from the opposite sex for his self induced ritual of physical and spiritual cleansing. Up to this point his elusiveness to female attention and stoic attitude toward his desires had not come into question, but now here he was facing it like an incoming fist.*
"D...Date?"
*He realized what might have happened and could only now consider an appropriate way to maneuver.*
"Right, of course - I'm sorry I thought Ress might have talked to you but if I haven't heard anything from him then you don't need to be worried about anything. I suppose I can explain the expectations of this empire if you uh... don't understand, or don't know."
*Dal tried to approach the topic delicatly, it wasn't that he was rejecting the girl but there was a clear and desperate need to be clear.*
"By all means we can spend some time together, and get to know each other but in the long term... Ress has mandated that all Dragon Blooded should seek mates within their own aspect, I simply cannot be your mate if I wish to uphold and represent the law. Even then in the short term, I am a Priest of the Sun and I have made a sacred pact in the eyes of the sun to purify myself of all that I was in the past... This purification cannot be broken until the end of this year when I reach my 24th cycle. I shave my head in the morning, work, train, and meditate all day, and attempt to sleep all night if I am lucky enough not to dream... Few women I have ever known would have patience for such a man as me!"
*Dal said all of this not knowing how or if he should stop, feeling as though saying a lot more than he needed to would be better than nothing.*
"... I'm sorry, I speak a lot, but I suppose I don't really know what to say. You are still of course welcome at my table, but I'm afraid my bed is out of the question... At the least until next year."
*His face was tragic, he had no desire to upset this girl or disappoint her when she had shown just how obviously excited she was about this date.*

Descending Fire 21,
*Blood Coil listened to Dal's story and waited quietly until he was finished before nodding once and taking a moment to process it. She had known before she met this man that she would ultimately have to wed someone of her own Aspect, that she already knew, and she also knew that there was a potential that Dal had a lover, until now, that is. A monk until the end of the year? Well, that was only two weeks away. Reality settled in heavily on her chest, but she smiled despite her pain. He hadn't exactly rejected her, but at the same time he had reminded her about her duty as a Dragon-Blooded. If there was one thing Blood Coil was proud of, outside her undefeated status, it was that the Dragons had blessed her with their touch. Still, who knew how long it would take Ress to find someone who would be willing to bond and mate with a woman like herself. And somehow, she felt that she could help Dal in other ways.
Such tenderness that had hit her heart as it never had caused Blood Coil's defensive smirk-smile from before to soften into her first real gentle expression. She put her hand to the Zenith's cheek for a brief moment before pulling it back and tucking a wispy bang away from her eyes*
I understand where you come from, Admiral. We may not be meant for each other in the long term, but I think we were meant for each other right now. Perhaps not romantically, or maybe only for a small-term affection, but you have never known the patience of an Earth Dragon.
Sleepless nights, secret fears, bury them in the safety of my heart. I can be there for you in the darkness when all the light is gone from the day and only the monsters of your mind remain to keep you company. If not as a lover, then as a friend. I can't guarantee how long we can remain if we do become involved, but I can always guarantee my friendship. My heart can heal, I am an Exalt, after all. Besides, the new year is only two weeks away and you didn't exactly tell me never
*her smile expanded to become a touch teasing and mischievous, but calmed to become more serious again*
Let us get to know each other first, and by the time we have reached a comfortable point, who knows what stage of life we'll find ourselves in. Maybe we will have both been swept off our feet by unexpected love
