Descending Fire 21
*That's teenagers for you, Dal tried to smile as he thought about when he was one, it worked to a degree. He was a little startled at the poetic and deeply emotional words coming from this little brawler.*
" I always welcome new friends; I suppose only time will tell of deeper connections, eh?"
*His smile loosened and seemed to become more natural.*
"So I guess you asked me a question but I think it's safe to save that answer for later, tell me more of yourself, where did you come from? What do you do other than lure unsuspecting Solars to dinner?"
*He smirked a little with this last comment, attempting to be whimsical.*

Descending Fire 21,
*pushing aside the self-conscious feelings and the polite avoidance Dal had managed, Blood Coil decided to clamp down her on her sadness as well; intending to beat it out in the training room back in the manse later. She forced herself to relax, though she only ended up looking just as wary as normal, but sitting farther in the seat*
I thought you knew... I'd say sorry, but I'm not. As for where I come from, all over, I guess. I lived in Darktree last, that's where I met Butterfly and Lotus. Other than bother men at dawn, I work out and train. Fight.
*despite her previous prose, waxing poetic was only something she did when trying to inspire or comfort, neither of which she did very often. Seeing that it wasn't really helping, she reverted back to the speech patterns she used when she did talk to people outside the gangs*
What about you?

"Yeah well, it's my fault anyway, I'm so used to dragon blooded coming through on business I just assumed... There would have been another time in my life when I would have known exactly what was going on. I would have accepted a date with you without hesitation at a different time in my life! Now my life is both simple and complicated in such a way... you know."
*Dal chuckled and rubbed the back of his head, a little ashamed.*
" Me anyway, well... Before here, It was Nexus where I Exalted, and before that it was Goodharbor. That's where I learned Riverspeak. In my youth I spent a lot of my time out west... sailing. "
* He faded out and into thought as he finished, not following up with another question. Obviously he was holding back, he wasn't sure he wanted to blast this girl with an emotional story of his past right off the bat.*

Descending Fire 21,
It's also my fault, I've never been good with socializing like that. Surprising, right?
*Blood Coil laughed a little, trying to make light of her bad people skills. She turned intent eyes on Dal, wondering if he really would have dated her back in his other life. She supposed it might be possible, but still with a high unlikeliness factor. As it was, poor Ress was going to have a difficult enough time finding someone willing to marry her. Love was probably out of the question, and had been until this morning*
You can tell me, you know. If there's one thing I can do outside of fighting, it's listen. I won't judge
*her unwavering chocolate gaze seemed to swirl in its intensity as she locked onto Dal, unblinking*

"Well, it's not exactly first date material to talk about, but if you insist..."
*He shrugged and shifted the shape of his lounge into a recliner, easing back into it to kick his legs up.*
"I was born in Okeanos, the neck as you would know it, and as a boy my village was raided by pirates and I was taken as a slave aboard their ship, along with many others I had known all my life. My mother and sister were sold, but I was kept by the captain and made to fight in port towns we docked in where men would gather and gamble on combatants. Unlike you, back then I was always defeated, the Captain was a bit of a hustler and I was intended to throw my fights if I had any chance of winning them in the first place. Time passed, I survived... to the Captains great misfortune, and then I was free."
*Dal looked at his toes and lost himself in thought for a few moments before turning his gaze upon Blood.*

Descending Fire 21,
*Blood nodded as he finished his story, giving him a moment to collect his thoughts before speaking*
I'm sorry that you had to go through that. I am sure his punishment was fitting. Did you ever find out about your family?
*Blood had never understood the importance people put on family, but she could tell he was one of those people. Their loss, though he tried to mention it casually, must have affected him*

Resplendent Fire, 21
"Yeah... The captain died with my fathers knife in his throat, and his ship burned. I did learn some things about what happened... My dad died, saw that myself the night I was taken. By chance I learned the Guild was where I wanted to be to keep my ear to the ground of the slave trade so I worked for them for a while... By fate, or luck my mother passed through their ownership. I got her killed trying to escape on a caravan full of slaves on it's way out of the city... I Exalted in a desperate battle between the slaves and guards. I don't know where my sister is... I know shes alive.. and is about the same age you are."

Descending Fire 21,
I see. That's unfortunate you lost your family that way. It sounds painful
*Blood Coil tried not to cringe when he mentioned his sister being the same age as her. It only seemed to make the gap between any potential romance bigger and she really didn't want to think like that*
So your sister's still alive, right? Have you thought of looking for her?

Resplendent Fire, 21
"Of course... I will do everything in my power to find her one day. I am duty bound however and have been so tied to the Empire's needs before my own that I have not been able to search. I only hope that if she is a slave that she is treated fairly until the day I can free her."
*Dal shook his head.*
"What about you? Where is your family in all of this, what about your past?"

Descending Fire 21,
*Blood Coil shrugged at his question, taking note that he combined his sister's fate as something under his "own needs" purview*
Never had any. A kid in my first gang took me from the trash and raised me until I was old enough to blend in before she was taken out by a rival gang. After that I was on my own, so I guess you could say I'm my own parents. Kids who can't fight are just another unwanted mouth, so I learned quick
*her tone was even, as though she had no real emotion over the situation. Simply a fact of life*
