Resplendent fire, 10
* The group, as well as the crowd that had amassed, fell silent as The Unconquered Sun spoke, and remained so for for a few moments afterwards*
* Mild Magma was the first to break the silence, speaking up from the silence in a dumbfounded voice as he rubbed his cheek with his palm*
" Wow....."
* Honored Brother followed close behind, patting his student on the shoulder as he nodded, a glazed expression plastered on his face while his mind still reeled over what had just happened*
" I agree, Mild Magma.... I had never expected to gaze upon the greatest of gods.... this brings me to......"
* Honored Brother then snapped back into reality, then began speaking in a strange foreign language, which may be recognized as High Realm*
*Ferasada looked on at Honored Brother with a puzzled expression, then spoke up in his dialect of Old Realm, Sentinel following up not long behind with translations*
" I am sorry... I do not understand... and as the unexalted high priest, I may not speak the holy language outside consecrated ground."
* Honored Brother was taken back by what Ferasada had said, but obliged the request, replying him in his own dialect of Old Realm, but of course, their proficiency with the language allowed them to understand one another.*
<Old Realm> " So sorry... You are a high priest to The Unconquered Sun? I am impressed. I am in the understanding that you and your people have been isolated here for a thousand years and have kept lasting records of your history. You have no fear of these....'golden gods' and the power they wield?"
* Honored Brother was careful with his words, now knowing that the word 'anathema' was derogatory.*
* Ferasada slowly shook his head, smiling as he spoke*
" No, not at all. We have records of there being wicked Lawgivers in the world.... Namely one known as 'Bright Shattered Ice'... but they are not The Unconquered Sun... nor are they children with power. I understand that if you give a bushel of apples to two men, one may bake a pie, where as the other may throw them at their neighbors.
Yes, the Lawgivers had great and terrible powers... but power in the hands of those fit for it is nothing to be afraid of.
The history of Dare'Lumena's power is that it was in the hands of a man named Cho-Hi-Xo. we have a whole wing in our library full of his accolades, but he was a saint of a man who believed all mortals should be treated equally, be they artisan or prefect, child or scholar, and if Dare'Lumena is even half the Lawgiver that Cho-Hi-Xo was, then Creation is in good hands"
*Honored Brother was speechless... though he was a Scion, he was not one to disrespect his elders.. especially in a land he was a guest in*
" But what about the decree of the Dragons?..."
* As if Ferasada was expecting this question, be spoke without hesitation*
" Why would the Elemental Dragons object to a powerful being bringing good? Are not all gods powerful beings? Do they not all become drunk with power at times? That is why there are other Exalts... to keep eachother in line... as a Dragon-Blooded, can you not feel the desire to look to a higher power for guidance? The Lawgivers are this higher power... and if you do not believe it, then perhaps a demonstration by one of our Dragon-Blooded raised here can show you the long lost power handed down by The Elemental Dragons."
*Honored Brother wanted to argue this point, but these were all arguments that he had been playing in his head for many years.
Honored Brother remained silent for a few moments, then spoke up, giving Ferasada a nod*
" I understand what you are saying... and it makes sense... but you have to understand as well... I was raised with these beliefs my whole life and they will not just go away... but thank you... I think you have enlightened me... and my ward here"
* Honored Brother nudged Mild Magma, who lurched out of his silence and spoke up as well*
" I was once told that the reason us Dragon-Blooded have charge over creation is because we are divine enough to police the gods, and mortal enough to care for those beneath us... from what it sounds like, these 'mighty beings' are too divine for their own good and could disrupt the balance.... I don't think it matters wether or not they are demons or not... they are dangerous because they have more power than any one individual should... and I would be afraid to stay in this empire if it were not for Master Honored Brother"
* Honored Brother patted his shoulder and heaved a sigh, shaking his head slowly*
" Children sometimes have such strong feelings for such young beings.... but I am confident that his wisdom will grow to crush his opinions.... but thank you once more, Ferasada."
