* The people of Bezair cheered and made rows through the streets, seeing their champions off to the Marina, the place near the attacks, where seas of frightened people gawked out at the giant black jade mechanized squid pounded away at what was left of a ship, before moving in on another ship.. one which had a ruined mast... but soon as the warstriders moved into range, the squid turned, losing interest in the ship, now seeking to destroy these new an more powerful 'threats'*

*Arachnia continued to march forward, resisting the anger at the false support of the cheering people in Bezair. They only liked you when you did things that they wanted but as soon as something even appeared a touch out of place or suspicious they immediately turned on you. What a faithful lot they were. Her focus was now on the upcoming battle; it would look like sorcery wouldn't be a good idea as most of her essence had gone to powering this Warstrider. She saw the squid turn and pulled her sais into her hands, readying for the fight*

*Lirimana looked over at the people who were cheering them on, smiling a little to herself. At least there were some faithful citizens left in this empire. It saddened her to find so many uncaring souls when the Ress thing happened, but at least there were some who still supported the ruling group. Hearing Arachnia turn caused the Twilight's attention to settle on the coming squid. Bringing her spear to battle readiness, she took in a deep breath and dug her feet into the ground*

( ST Amendment ) * A whurr of gears and essence came from behind Lirimana, just before the entire first age magitech device lifted gracefully off the ground on two huge golden glowing wings, which carried he ove the water and into battle... as if to say 'ready'*

This is what he had been ready for. Run, Jump, splash. Dal's warstrider went skating across the water exactly the way one would expect it to not.

*Buoyed on the heels of his warstrider, ready to meet the squid head on. Dal thought to himself as he grew closer, though little time would pass before he and the squid clashed. *

He was hardly thinking much about what he was doing, nor did it even occure to him that he was - by proxy of his strider, walking on water. He did however, think about how much he enjoyed eating Calamari. His stomach growled.

* The Resplendent Undersea Line breaker Unit and Amphibious Ally Enforcer Mark 12 quickly closed the gap between itself and the Warstriders, on a self appointed mission to cleanse the Grey River of all essence users ad non sea life. As it reached for the surface, four black jade tentacles raise from the salty water. Seeing Dal advance in time with itself, the mechanized squid set its sights for him. Four tentacles lashed across the Orichalcum Royal Warstrider, thinking little of the strength of baby Solars or their Warstriders*

As if Mocking the slippery movements made by the U.S.L.B, Dal widened his strides, and swayed back and forth before he arrived in the squids all to welcoming embrace. His swords poised and ready like the bared fangs of a viper ready to strike. He had remembered the very first time he took this stance, It wasn't long after he had exploded into the Zenith most people recognized him to be.

This was Dal, having taken this opportunity to attract the squids attention perhaps even give the others a chance to catch up. The squids lanky appendages were going to prove quite the vexation if left to roam around the way they were. He decided it would be best to try to take away the squids favorite means of attack. It was going to be a long day indeed.

*Dal swatted at the tentacle that came at him, he felt it was a rather feeble auscultation at first - one that never seemed to end. One last murderous appendage plunged out from it's world from the murky depths into the oxygen, Nitrogen, Argon and so on world above.*

"Uh oh... Here it comes Bine!"

*Dal erupted from the surface of the water, jumping as high as possible to absorb the incoming blow with the miraculous effects of gravity and momentum. The Orichalcum armor dazzled in the glow of the early sun reflected on the water. Again, the nearly 9ft long swords in his Warstriders hands came up and then back down attempting to deflect the incoming blow. He roared with effort, but it was not at all for his own sake, he had made a promise he intended to keep.

He was going to prove he was a deserving rider, and he sure as malfeas wasn't going cower behind the armor Bine protected his riders with. In fact, he didn't want a scratch on his new Warstriders armor out of respect - after all, it was generous enough to be in the way of whatever was, in a sense, really trying to hit him.*

in the moments just previous to being hit, he looked at the others still on the sidelines.

" Take it's tentacles off plea... - Ooph!"

" Hey, you are pretty good... but here, I don't want this to take all day"

* The Warstrider began to glow from the inside with a gold light along its hull, with two larger caronas of golden glow surmounting its mechanical arms*

Having expected a hit, Dal blinked once, felt the new strength in his Warstriders arms, reached out and grabbed hold of the incoming tentacle with both hooked ends of his swords, which where likened to the size of smallish Steel trees. He now used the huge jade appendage as a zip line, careening from high above the waters surface, toward the root joint.
A few seconds later he was slamming against the waters surface sending ridiculously large, and violent walls of water out in all directions, just above the Squid. When the air born water dissipated back into the river, one could see Dal's glistening warstrider release one swords hook, hold the tentacle in place with the others, and the proceed to hack at it viciously. He then yanked the still hooked sword in his left toward him, gouging the armored joint before gaining its freedom. *

*Dal jumped away head first, and sprang off his hands looking rather like an over complicated and expensive slinky. He was trying to get some distance and avoid becoming entangled once the squid realized what had happened. He would take a Guarded stance, and attempt to recover upon reaching safety.*

*moving quickly over the shoreline, her Warstrider was poised gracefully on the top layer of the Marina while her eyes followed the clash of Dal'Lumen and the squid. Seeing as he was just about finished and the other threats hadn't decided to surface yet, Arachnia supposed it was her turn. Right as Dal'Lumen was springing away from the squid, Arachnia was repositioning the Warstrider onto it's front six legs while the other two came up to the spinneret on her lower abdomen. Aiming at the squid, essence silk shot out of the spinneret and spun around each of the tentacles that had been waving about, wrapping them tightly into stillness. That should hold it, and, should the other four show up, they would receive a similar fate. Hopping back just a few feet, Arachnia readied for the next attack*

*The squid thrashed and moved as the huge moonsilver spider crawled about on its tentacles, laying down the glowing essence silk... but quickly it was completely immobilized, its 4 arms now bound together like one large and clumsy tentacle*

*Airborne, Lirimana activated the Essence Scouter in her Warstrider and looked down at the now-bound squid below her. As Arachnia moved backward the Twilight was moving downward, rotating her body so that she was in a downward spiral. At the last second she thrust her spear into the nearest tentacle and allowed the momentum and a slight opening of her wings to force her through the slender appendage. Flowing through the motion she spun around quickly with her arm bent so that her elbow was above her head, spear in hand and drove it back into the tentacle that she had just driven through. Immediately she flew up higher into the sky, her wings keeping her aloft as she waited for her next opening*

* the two essence cannons pressed to Lirimana's wastrider's back suddenly jolted upwards and clicked down just above her shoulders in the ready position. it then blasted out a single well charged shot from either barrel* ( 5 bashing damage)

Somewhere far away, someone was enjoying a nice quiet morning by this very same river...

But in Imperveress - one could hear the metal cacophony from miles around. If you listened very hard you would hear the harmonic song of two large hook swords still ringing from a recent collision with something quite hard.

A dazzling wall of water cascading into the early sunlight signified that Dal'luman had come to an abrupt halt.

"Ata' way ladies!" *He canted into riverspeak without thinking about it. It was clear he was having fun.*

* Again; Water parted in the wake of Dals movement, he began running a slithering path around the squid. Both swords were held out to his sides and occasionally in his weaving motions, the tip of one of them would dip into the water and stir the murk into a momentary airborne rooster tail.

Dal's Warstrider jumped. landed. As intended this sent a wall of water well above his warstriders head.*

When it came clamoring back down, he was nowhere to be seen -
Unless... you looked below the surface!


Dal' Shot toward the main body of the mecha squid like a torpedo of sunlight. He turned abruptly and followed the girth of the squids body and dragged his two hook swords furiously along what would be an every day squids mantle, not unlike a fishermen gutting a fresh catch. This of course created an outrageous sound that rattled the very bones of any that could hear it.

He exploded back to the surface and soared high above the water like an absurdly over sized dolphin. His hands came together in front of him and he pointed them at the squid below.

Inside the fuselage Dal's eyes blared wildly, he could feel his exalted power pulsing through his veins like Sun fire. His jaw tensed up... but even in his intensity his mouth formed a whisper.

"Fire..."

* Once again, he would feel the whurr and hum of essence charging within the barrels of the essence cannons, before two large shots blasted from them and at the bound squid*

" Say please next time, will ya?.... by the sun... have some manors"

"Thank you Bine." *He crooned*

Bines response could not have been more welcome. Dal looked over his shoulder at the incoming wave of destruction, it was still closing on them.

He re-focused ahead, and gritted his teeth.

*Faster... Need to go faster! He urged his body and mind for any additional power. He and Bine were consumed in blinding light.*

*His warstrider exploded back to the surface a good distance away from the explosion completely intact.*

"Woo! Where have you been all my life you big bad ass? Dumb question... That was way too close, good job! What in malfeas does it take to kill this thing?!

*He skimmed back and forth on the waves, as he took the time to speak*

It may be a good idea to keep our distance, I get the feeling this things going to call some of it's friends out to play."

*Dal Cautiously kept his eyes on the Black Squid, and aimed Bines arm guns at it waiting for any opportunity to deal out any more punishment.*

"This thing is supposed to be unfinished, it's got to have some kind of weakness..."

" Where have I been? I have been hideing here since before your great great great great great grandfather was at great great great great great great grandmother's tit. Keep your head in the game, I can't keep saving your ass like this forever"

*nicks and cuts, along with marks of battery were apparent along its jade hull... and despite the assault, the squid seemed no worse for wear, barring the bound tentacles. From under the water, two more tentacles rose from the waves, one of which lashed out and smacked at the essence silk, attempting to shatter the bonds that bound it... the other tentacle reached out at Arachnia herself to bind her in return. That not being all, the bound mass of jade tentacles reached out, attempting to smack Dal out of the air... to make maters worse... a visible crash of lightning like tendrils of essence blasted all around the skirmish, before a dome of destructive essence lept from the bulbous body of the black jade beast*

*In response to the incoming attack, Both Ratch and Bine lept into action.

As the wave of energy made its way outward, Dal would find his warstrider almost instantaneously submerged under the water. the legs to his immense suit of armor would snap together and the rumble of powerful turbines could be felt as the warstrider sped away from the blast at break neck speeds (+4DV)

At the same time, Lirimana would find herself climbing higher and higher into the air on her golden glowing wings, attempting to get her out of the range of the deadly current... but uppon realizing just getting out of the way was not enough, Lirimana's arm began to glow a gright gold... then all at once formed into a bubble of golden light, interposing itself between Lirimana and the deadly incoming wave, but as soon as they impacted, the shield fell, leaving Lirimana vulnerable once more(+4DV + 30L soak ) *

*Arachnia found herself the target for a binding of the squid's own making, and she was having none of it. With a deft spring left and right she got out of the way of the searching tentacles. The blast radius began to grow and the Empress flashed a confident smirk to the squid before winking at Trell*

Now!

*she engaged the bubble of searing essence in a race, her Warstrider crouching lower for the smallest of moments and then rocketed upward into the sky, completely avoiding the blast. A low satisfied chuckle slipped from Arachnia as she continued upward for a little longer before she pulled her legs in and allowed the Warstrider to plummet from the sky and down into the water where she immediately opened up all eight of her appendages to slow her descent. A few strokes brought her just under the surface of the water where she attached to the squid and began wrapping up the two that remained underneath. As soon as she was satisfied with the crippling of those she appeared on the top layer of the Marina, sitting much like a water strider would. A quick scuttling forward brought her to the front of the squid where a few jets of silk would bring the last two tentacles to rest. While on the main body of their Jade calamari Arachnia looked dead ahead*

Thanks, Ratch! That was close, eh?

*Lirimana laughed a little and turned to launch her next attack. As it looked now, Arachnia had trapped the other four tentacles, and she felt a little silly for attacking a tentacle when she could have attacked the hull, but as she was still breathing she could always go for the hull this time. Which she was going to. Out of the sun came Ratch and Lirimana, golden wings blazing furiously and weapon drawn. She alternated the flight system so that she was falling in a spiral now, her spear forming the tip to drill into the top of the squid, using her thrusters to gain more speed until she was a swirling rocket of essence and color. As soon as Lirimana connected with the squid there was an explosion of essence as she activated Hungry Tiger Technique and blasted out of the side of the squid, roaring into the sky once more, waiting in the enormous ocean of light that was their view of the sun for her next strike*

Dal and his warstrider sped back towards the Mecha Squid. He was going to be more careful not to over extend himself again, there's no telling what sort of weapons the thing still has. The last retaliation was a bit of a surprise, and was far too close for comfort.

"What keeps this thing going? No matter how much we hit it, it keeps on coming. There has to be something... Bine, can you get any readings on its power source? If we can all target its heart we can shut it down without having to tare it to shreds. We may want to be able to salvage this thing."

The tips of each of his swords plunged under the water and sent tall delicate transparent fins of water up on either side of the warstrider. He continued to skim the waters surface quickly passing over the squids hull, once again dragging the blades across it's black exoskeleton of Jade. Turned quickly away, and sped off trying to keep his distance until a weak point could be found.

"Readings? I am here to rend, not read... but that prissy AI Ratch has a scouter or something... he is working with your 'Lirimana" person.... yeah, I am nosey... so what? I'll contact her, you stay busy with keeping us alive."

Dal saw the flashes of light from the guns out of the corners of his eyes and responded with uncanny speed and grace, he danced around each incoming blasts which hit the water instead, sending violent jets of water high into the air. Each of which he Swerved between as if to taunt the Squids shooting abilities.

"Lirimana, see if Ratch can locate the power source on this thing, target that while it's still bound!"

*The squid began to shake and tremor as it fought against its binds. attempting to break them, but failing for the moment. Its huge mass of 4 tentacles moved to what seemed like 'look' at the other mass... when suddenly the tips slid back diagonally onto their stalks, revealing four essence cannons which began to bore through its binds.

At the same time, the other tentacles did as the former, revealing the cannons within, of which it used to try to blast DalLumen off its jade hull *

*Arachnia came up to the squid once more, crawling over and readying to launch her next attack, she realized that her binds were coming loose and frowned. Now that just wasn't going to work for her. Arachnia turned around so that her abdomen was facing her target and shot the silk from the spinnerets at the left group of tentacles and wound it around so as to strengthen her hold on the squid's movements. The Empress proceeded to leap off of the hull of the squid, tucking her legs as she used to the momentum to spin backwards, leaving a trail of fine silver essence in her wake. When she found the distance she wanted, Arachnia shot another blast of her essence silk at the top of the left tentacle bindings, laying the silk on thick as she aimed to completely coat the opening where the cannons were firing from, glowing a pale silver as Trell aided her coordination. At the last moment she pulled herself forward on the string and landed on top of the tentacle club where she sealed the top-side lid on the cannon. From on top of the left nest of arachnid netting Arachnia let off another round of silk at the right grouping of ensnared tentacles. She pulled herself forward with the strand and wound around the pattern from the first binding until she was satisfied with the reinforcement of the silky prison. She then lowered the spider-shaped Warstrider down on top of the hole in the right set of restraints as she put out a thick stream of webbing over the top of them before moving swiftly in an oval pattern over the bindings, the stream of essence-material still flowing, until she was content that the second opening for the cannons was completely covered with her shiny spider-ropes. With that, she climbed down the tentacle, her legs effortlessly finding the holds needed to stay on the Jade of the squid, and settled upside down on the lower part of the squid that was underwater where she waited to see what the others would do and how she could help*
