* Quar looked up, hearing his name mentioned, then peicing together the conversation he should have been paying better attention to with fragments he had remembered*
" The Plateau? I only looked around in there long enough to find what it was I was looking for.... but I did see dragons. Kinda like me. I think they are still in there, but I was in too much of a hurry to say hello to them. Thats all really... I sometimes have tunnel vision"

*Finally, Sentinel appeared in the meeting hall, a determined yet puzzled look plastered upon his golden glowing face. He walked to the table, then took up the map, looking it over carefully*
" '80% Fair folk Inf..' If only we could fix this and figure out what it said... this might add another piece to the puzzle... Mine and Zeriku's sorcery is non-existent, but I seem to remember there being a spell that could renew whatever was on this. It is unfortunate indeed...."

Dal' payed very close attention to the string of events Wise River recanted from a new perspective. Who was she, and how did she know so much... Judging by the fact that she was still a fresh exalt, she couldn't really be a suspect, but all the same it was unusual, not to say it was unwelcome. This kid was on to something!
His eyes lit up for a moment with the fire of curiosity with the mention of flying machines, but he did not let it distract him.
"Well, I'm not all together sure what the corn god said, Arachnia was the one that questioned him... What exactly did he say, did his description match the accounts of the other gods?"
*Dal bit his lip and squinted an eye - trying to squeeze a memory to the surface of his mind.*
"Quie-Ra, the oat god of Beziar, said that he didn't see any arrows over the manse as they should have... After all, they would have had to go over it if they came from the imperial manse. Of course we also know that Beziar was attacked out on the river, not in the city and a full day earlier. Perhaps there is more than one or two perpetrators, maybe the reason Beziar was attacked sooner was because of some sort of miscommunication, or the 'insurgent' was discovered, or interrupted... They had to make a last ditch attempt to complete their goal?"
The clear watery hologram of Dal'Lumen pinched its chin and leaned his weight on one leg, obviously trying to think of any other possibles.
"This might just be a shot in the dark here, but suppose that the U.L.B. and A.A.E. Mk12 were intended as distractions, is there some way we could try to pull a bait and switch on these guys? You know, try to draw them out by seeming to give them what they want; to fight in Beziar... To know how to respond, and were to keep an ear out, we need to understand motive, any guesses?"
*Dal' simply grunted a response sentinel*
"I'm no good with that sort of thing either."

Resplendent Wood 3,
Ress usually keeps Reign of Ress in his bracers, when I go to see him tonight I will ask him if they are still there. As for Oce-Earin
*for anyone paying attention there was a veiled twinge of distaste as she spoke his name though the Empress's face and eyes showed nothing*
he mentioned that the arrows were broadhead, noting that they were nearly identical to the ones fletched in my own city and sent to Ress. He also said that the arrows were surrounded in a "yellow sun-like nimbus of essence as they fell" and proceeded to state that all of the evidence pointed to Ress, and I quote "the essence, the arrows, the turning into food.. even the direction they came from." After which, he proceeded to suggest his candidacy for Emperor when, for he seems to believe it a fact, Ress "visits his ancestors"
*despite her self-control, Arachnia's eyes grew a dangerous glint to them as her words and movements became slower and more languid. Her usually half-lidded eyes closed just a little more as her chin tilted upwards some and rotated so that she was looking at the others in the room at a slight angle. As usual, the changes were subtle but unmistakable to those who did notice as a sign that she was growing angry and more predatory. Apparently the corn god was in for it if he tried something like that again... And for a brief moment as she realized something her black eyes grew deeper and flashed with a moment of sheer anger; how could she be so stupid?*
And as for the arcing of arrows, I did ask and he never gave me a straight answer. That would be my fault for allowing that to get away. Believe me, I will get it out of him.
*the black widow smiled internally with thoughts of gutting the elemental. With a shake to herself she turned back to the topics at hand*
Which spell? I can pull it up in my Manse and figure it out with a little time
*it wasn't Arachnia's favorite thing to do, reveal that she was a sorceress so casually, but this was how the situation called for it. Maybe it was a habit from her late mentor, but Arachnia just found herself impartial to the whole idea of strutting around like a peacock with feathers of essence*

Resplendent Wood 3,
*Lirimana took the shards of what Sentinel put on the table in her fingers and rolled it around, examining it as she pondered what was going on around her. Bemusedly, she realized that she and Arachnia had switched roles, the spider becoming more involved while Lirimana sat back and observed. She looked up for a moment and stared blatantly at Dal*
Was one of those unfinished projects a squid? Maybe black?
*Lirimana sighed to herself, feeling the burden that her gift and curse gave her before muttering to herself about symbolism, bowls, hammers, crystal balls and grinning weasels. A finger found its way to her temple for a quick rub before turning some of her attention back to Dal'Lumen and another part back to the things she was examining*

Dal, somewhat embarassed by his comming answer scratched the back of his head absentmindedly.
"I never... err - Actualy saw it... First there were a buncha river dragons, then a giant squid... Then another giant squid. So when Sentinel told me I should turn tail and run from something much bigger and bader that was on it's way, I did. Perhaps Sentinel could tell you more, hes the one that told me about that in the first place."
*Dal glanced at Arachnia noticing her anger, which could potentialy lead to a dead god who wouldn't reform for a month.*
"Uhm, Arachnia, perhaps it would be better to have a new face approach the corn god, someone he isnt so familiar with, perhaps someone... intimidating to him. Quar-Zagot is not quite as *He tried to put this as gently as possible.* Close to the subject? That is of course up to him. I could also do it, but of course im much further away. Heh..."

* Sentinel dropped the paper down onto the table abruptly as he heard Lirimana mention a "black squid". He turnned to her sharply, taking a few steps closer before asking his impassioned question*
" How could you have known it was a black squid?" Nobody has set foot in the Marina in over a thousand years!...."
* He stepped back as he calmed down, remembering his place in all this*
" Yes, the aquatic machination is indeed a giant black jade squid. It is unmistakable when you see it. It is a very dangerous device indeed... and will require much help to put down, but we do have all the tools to take care of it. Unfortunately, This 'squid' is half formed and will malfunction, possibly leading into a dangerous situationfor the citizens of Imperveress."

* Once more seeing an opportunity to be important, Quar spoke up, placing both hands upon the ancient meeting table*
" I would be glad to grill the corn god for the truth! I have not had much of a chance to try out the full extent of what this new body can do!... and as much as I would like to help with that squid... I regrettably cannot swim. If I remember correctly, because I am a dragon now, other spirits have to listen to me, because I hold some of the authority of Pasiap."
* One could almost see Quar swelling with pride as he compared himself to the great earth dragon Pasiap*

Resplendent Wood 3,
*Arachnia narrowed her eyes at Dal'Lumen but sighed a little and nodded, returning her expression to its usual "come to bed with me" look. At Quar's suggestion, one corner of her upper lip curled into a smile that she turned to the dragon*
I think that would be a good idea, Quar-Zagot, let me know how it goes when you are finished. I am not putting any restrictions on your interrogation
*If Quar accidentally breaks Oce-Earin, all the better. He'll be back after awhile anyway.. As soon as Sentinel turned on Lirimana the widow's black eyes turned to watch. A single brow raised in amusement and curiosity at the former Emperor and his outburst. How sensitive...*

Resplendent Wood 3,
*Lirimana blinked for a moment as Sentinel rounded on her before looking at him square in the face. She would have told him why if he had asked a little nicer, but now she felt like making this a little more difficult for him. Besides, it wasn't really something she wanted to broadcast, even among her peers*
That is a professional secret. Despite how I know about it I know that we can defeat it if we work together. I am also pretty sure that there is someone orchestrating the events at the Marina, someone with a cup. Sentinel, is the form you wear now the same as when you were alive?
*Lirimana sat back in her chair as she watched the others in the room, waiting for her question to be answered*

* Sentinel nodded, then looked down at his glowing self, before returning his gaze to Lirimana*
" Yes, I always looked like this... why do you ask?... are you remembering things?.... if so, please let me know.
I have a few theorys that I am still debating over.... if they are so..... well.... I suppose I have a few professional secrets myself."
* he nodded, rubbing his chin as he began mulling large and inhuman thing over in his head*

* Quar bowed a bit at Arachnia's acknowledgment, smiling ear to ear knowing that he is now an important and respected person within the Empire*
" And now... I request to begin my duties immediatly... if that is okay with everyone else.... it is, right?"
* It was obvious he was very excited to get to work on his appointed tasks. One could only wonder what tedious jobs he was forced to perform as a Jokun*

Resplendent Wood 3,
*Lirimana took a piece of parchment from her bag and a quill. Looking at the paper in front of her, the Twilight realized that she had no idea how to start. Buildings were more of her thing than artwork. A thought occurred to her and Lirimana went to work trying to align herself to the manse's essence to draw on it for help. As she did that, an image of a man in dusky blue robes with a shadowed face appeared holding the same kind of cup that Lirimana had placed as evidence from the floating Manse. Another figure appeared next to the first one of an intensely beautiful slender man with long black locks and soft-colored skin wearing long red and black robes, his eyes dark in shade. The copper spider looked at the images before her and smiled. This didn't turnout exactly as she had expected, but it was nice to know that she had this option available. Now she turned to Sentinel and gestured to the figures she had created out of the Manse's essence*
Do you know anyone who looked like either of these people? I'm aware that the man in blue isn't showing his face, but I don't know what it looks like so I can't show you. Seeing as he holds the same style of cup that I found earlier, I would say it is probable that this is the man who was on the floating Manse above Bezair. If anyone else recognizes them, then feel free to comment. That goes for you, too, Quar
*she smiled at the Elemental, not really sure if it was necessary for him to be here after he said whether or not he recognized the figures*
If you want to leave after this, I have no problem

*Quar mulled over the two pictures for a moment or two, not thinking much about the new found ability of the Imperial manse, then shook his head*
"Nope,... goodbye!"
* And with that, the Elemental assumed the form of a dragon and ran off, bounding out of the room and down the stairs in no time*

* Sentinel, on the other hand, took a little longer to come up with an answer... but just like the rushing earth elemental... he too shook his head, knowing nothing of these two foreign people*
" No... I am sad to say there is no such person in my database.... I am sorry."
