Imperveress covers a 113,906.25 mile area (337.5 square miles), about the size of The United Kingdom. The distance from one manse to another is exactly 112.5 miles.

On average, going from one manse to another takes about 9 days and 2.33 hours, assuming the only stops are for food, minor repairs and sleep. (112.5 miles )

Going from one side to the other, takes on average 1 month, 7 days and 4.5 hours (337.5 miles)

Travel from West Bezair to East Bezair takes about 1 day, 1 hour and 45 minutes (18.75 miles)

From the imperial manse to the Armory/Unknown Plateau is about 1 week time (75 miles)

the travel time from {(East Bezair/Ramoth)/(Aranea/Kideshen)} to
{Armory}/{Unknown Plateau} is the same distance as one manse to another (18.75 miles)

the travel time from {(Ramoth/East Bezair)/(Kideshen/Aranea)} to
{Unknown Plateau}/{Armory} 2 weeks, 4 days, 2 hours and 53 minutes (218.66 miles)

All of these statistics are assuming that the traveler is going in a straight line and is on foot.

Perfected boots quicken all journeys on foot to:

Ugh... So I want to propose that we figure out some sort of long distance movement system that works for us so that once and for all we know what we base travel times on.

Hello my name is Dal'Lumen, today I will be represented as a long distance running benchmark with my jaw dropping athletic prowess (Dex 5, stam 3, resistance 3, athletics 3. those stats pretty well cover any situation or calculation, distance traveled might require.)

So far all the penalties are pretty well covered in the book but long distance movement speed is a little iffy.

(For an example of a problem I see. We have been using Move/Dash to represent long distance movement speeds, Dal is able to perform a 'move' action freely and easily at 5 yds/tik (10.22 mph roughly). at that pace he could cover the length of Imperveress in about 33.7 hours)

o.k. not bad.

Let's put those perfected boots into the picture now take all travel times down to 1/8th normal time... ok so that's 4.21 Hrs from east to west ... WHOA, that means at some point I was traveling MORE than 80 MPH, and that's just a 'move' action (Determined by DeX).

I'M FAST BALD BASTARD! I tell you, it must be the Wax I use to polish my dome.

Let's make it even more disgusting and say I strap my nikes on and moves with a full dash action - That's 11 yds/tik or 22.5 MPH. I cover the breadth of Imperveress in 15 hours after several Red Bull enemas and at least 5 sxs!

Ok 1/8 that time with perfected boots on.

Don't Blink because you will have missed me, I was moving at almost 181 MPH and got there in LESS than 2 HRS!

If I wanted to I could run on water and travel to my home island a distance of 8500 miles... In 47 hours, that's right Just short of two days. I think those boots are hiding an infinite improbability drive somewhere in them, or perhaps the only thing that is improbable are those rules as I understand them.

Obviously as Exalted, we have advantages over average folks, it's all very cool, but perhaps we need to put a governor on this hot-rod and figure out how we would like to calculate travel times based on running speed.

(Perhaps it could be as easy as saying... Character moves at either Dash or move speed for Yrd/T Mph, with perfected boots the character has the option to take a standardized travel time and cut it down to 1/8th the time, whichever is faster, and whichever the sXs represent).

As much a I would like to go Exalted heavy and latch onto these values, I am afraid there are a few problems with your math.

You are very correct in that you can move (Dex) Yards per tick(second)

AND that a dash is calculated as (Dex)+6 Yards per tick

In addition, Perfected boots adds +3 to move and another +6 to dash actions.... but that's where the accuracy ends.

Maybe I should edit my first travel post(*Goes and applies proper edit and context to post*) There, thats better... Now then.

page 264-266 have rules for long distance travel. Sorry for the confusion, I really should have put cites to my info x.x
