* Not long after Zeriku's departure, the translucent transmission of Mayli appeared before Arachnia, slightly swaying and drunk looking as ever*
"mmm... Yes Empress?... what can I do for you?"
* she fiddled with her rope belt as she watched Arachnia with glassy eyes*

*a quiet and serene expression held the Empress's face, an undertone of sensual interest highlighting her delicate features. Her deep black eyes grabbed onto the glazed look Mayli had chosen to wear, almost forcing the goddess to keep them there. She waited only a moment before her lips parted, issuing sweet syllables that had somehow managed to keep a small tone of business above the waves that were her the sounds of her voice*
Afternoon, Mistress of Wheat. I call to request the information that you gave to Towering Oak, verbatim, if you would indulge such pleasures. I assure you that it would be exceedingly appreciated...
*Arachnia let her eyes take in the features of the wheat goddess, watching for any nuance that might provide her with additional information, especially any that might suggest that she was lying or withholding information*

* She shrugged, then stumbled a bit from the sudden movement, giggling as she regained her 'balance'*
" I simply told him I saw the Dragon run by with something soft and golden flowing on his back leg. I then noticed the arrows falling from the sky, then the processed wheat grain that appeared. I wish I could tell you more, but that is all I saw"

*the Empress raised a brow and nodded, noting the voiced expertise on the plants in question. But processed wheat grain? That doesn't sound right, since whenever she had seen Ress hit something with those arrows it became a growing living thing. In fact, those grapes on the plateau and the trees in the crater were products of Ress's practice*
Are you positive that it was processed wheat grain that you saw?
*the thoughts were forming in her head as she whirled ideas and theorems about in it. She was going to have to return to the site where Quar picked up the "wheat" and see if she could make true any of these possibilities. Whatever it was, it wasn't wheat that Quar had picked up, Mayli had confirmed it herself, whether she had realized it or not*

* A smile crossed the lips of the drunken goddess, her slightly swaying form holding steady enough for her to give a nod to the spider empress*
" If there is anything in creation that I know... it is Wheat... I could spot any strain from a mile away. I know that it was crude processed wheat that was left behind after the assault... like just before a windmill crushes it to flour."

Of course, thank you
*Arachnia looked thoughtful, deciding that now was the time to go back and examine the area where Quar Zagot had picked up the unknown object. Time to test those theories filling her mind. She offered a bow to Mayli and her smile picked up again*
I must depart for now, but if I require your services again, I will contact you. Have a lovely afternoon
*the Empress closed the communication link and made haste for the place where she had seen Quar, hoping that the "X" wouldn't interfere with anything*
