*Running through the city of Ramoth, Creeping Stalk found Jakisi, Willow, and Lotus and brought them through the throng to Reed's house for a huddle. Once they got to the door of his house, the other three fanned out to continue taking down the shadow-creatures while she went in to get Reed. With the door unlocked and her bow out, the dark-haired, dark-skinned woman loped quickly through the house to find the family inside*

* in Reed's house, the furniture was setup so they were barricades around four young children.
At either side of the encampment stood a tall easterner with spear in hand, ready to strike any intruder... but when they saw these were more children and a chapperone, they stood down.
The woman stepped forward, speaking to them in a stern, but inquisitive tone*
" Why have you come here?... it is not safe out there... we have seen 'them'. "

*Creeping Stalk smiled some, the expression soft and heartened when she saw that they were doing well. She let her bow fall to her waist and gestured to the door where the others had taken up posts to defend the house*
That's essentially why we have come. I am assembling a team for defense of each city, and we need Reed for Ramoth's force. We will start here and then spread outward, collecting the people of the city and creating a fortress with this home at the center

" You want our child for your defense team?... but he is still a baby... how could he stand against demons?"
* The father said, his wife silent as she battled with her inner turmoil, until she spoke up*
" What sort of team?.... who else will be on it? The Exalts?"

But of course, Kovin. Reed is an extraordinary child
*she turned to Reed's mother and smiled*
That's the spirit! It will be made up of the children in the empire who meet the standards of the organization. They will be a defense force in times of great need, otherwise they will watch out for more minor missions, deployed based on their personal skills on a team with complementary abilities. There will be one in each city, that way they can remain with their families. We can discuss this more when the empire isn't under attack, if that is alright with you
