* Even during the day, the sun seemed dimmer as it hung in the sky, but this has been the way of calibration since the Exalted toppled the Primordials and allowed the gods to rearrange creation.
The day could only be described as 'eerie'. The wind was non existent, there was not a cloud in the sky.
For those who could see them normally, the gods and elementals of the weather and seasons were lounging about, no longer doing their duties and allowing creation to stagnate without them.
As the sun began to set, the moon did not rise to replace it in the sky, and the stars did not shine as well, casting a sickly darkness across the land below.
This trend continued, until the sun disappeared beyond the horizon.
The moment the night came, the city manses of Imperveress belched forth tides upon tides of twisted, horrific monsters of varying nightmarish shapes and sizes. Each manse fired reflexively upon the creatures that spilled forth from them, but the corrupting touch of the invaders tainted the geomancy of the manses from shear volume of darkness. the sea of darkness washed outward from each manse and into the cities, causing chaos and destruction in their wake*
