Resplendent Fire 15,
*once she had left Ress, Mother Torrent made great time into Bezair, using the river as a straight-through passage into the port. She seemed to be following some internal directions and rose up and out of the river near the residential districts. She didn't bother trying to dry off and ultimately left footprints to be taken by the heat of the rising sun in her wake. Soon she stopped in front of a particular house and she took a moment to evaluate it. It wasn't a manse or a mansion, but it looked quaint and cozy. Spacious enough for a family to live in she knew that unless her little girl suddenly had a large number of siblings there would be room to spare. The roof was a wide curving sort, with the paneling similar to scales and she took that notion as an invitation, opening the door and entering the home. The smells of something cooking filled the air inside and the windows were open to let in the light. Tilting her head up and to the side she scanned the house quickly before dashing into the next room over where a young blue-skinned girl sat at a table staring longingly out the window*
*the little girl didn't even hear the door open and close, so lost in thought was she. Not even the quiet but rapid footsteps had alerted her, but the scent of fresh water brought her face around sharply, hope making her eyes brim with tears. As soon as she saw the woman in the doorway she leaped out of her seat and scrambled over the table with as much speed as she could muster, reaching the woman and jumping on her before the chair crashed to the ground*
MOMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rain! I missed you so much!
*Mother Torrent picked up her daughter and swung her around, squeezing her close to her chest, trying not to crush her precious little girl. A few tears of her own slipped out but they were lost in the soft brown locks of the girl in her arms. After a few more moments of this she pulled back just enough so that she could look her daughter in the eyes*
I'm sorry I'm late, baby, forgive me? I'm going to stay the extra time and catch up on my paperwork later to make it up to you. And I brought presents! Wanna see?
