* Ress sat at the control panel of his imperial manse, working the controls, until he found the communications system that connected all manses. With a soft sigh, he gathered his words and spoke* " My newly appointed allies, I urge you to report to my manse immediately. There is a situation of utmost urgency concerning both the well being and military future of our great nation of Imperveress. The aid and opinions of you all would be most appreciated. I hope to see you soon". * A click signified that Ress was done with his announcement. He changed the settings on his control panel back to their original settings.. taking a brief moment to look at the Armory*...." Don't worry old friend... we will help you"...

*Lirimana looked up as she heard Ress's voice reverberating throughout her Manse. She glanced around for a moment before deciding that it was a form of communication. She wasn't surprised, given the complex layout of the empire already, that the manse's might be connected somehow. She shrugged and smiled to Sai-Ren-Kurn, the Goddess who lived with her* I suppose that means I'm being summoned. I will be back in a few days, depending on how long this takes *Lirimana bowed to the Goddess and turned to gather more for traveling. It seemed that's all she's been doing these last few days.. walking away she muttered to herself about plans to make travel exponentially faster*

*Arachnia stood by her mate's side as he sent out the message, her hand on his shoulder in order to comfort him. She could feel that he was worried about something, and since it had been their brainstorm that had brought this action up, she knew what it was. When Ress was finished, Arachnia stroked Ress's cheek and offered him a smile* How long will it take to reach them? The message..

Humm * still, he looked at the map before his, heaving yet another sigh*.... they should be here in a weeks time... I only wish that there were a way to get them here faster... * in a bit of anger, he slammed his fists on the control console, doing absolutely no damage to the first age wonder* How did we do it, Sentinel?... how did you do it?..... this can't be our original design... * his gaze went back to the holographic map before him, talking another calming breath as he watched it*.... they are somewhere..... there * he pointed to the odd Plateau that was marked as a building but had its name expunged from the records*The answers are there... I know it!..... we have to find its secrets..... * but his eyes once more landed upon the armory... and his resolve wavered*..... but first thing is first.... it seems an old friend needs help....

Ress, darling, breathe deeply and focus *Arachnia kept her words soothing and she gently massaged his shoulders, using her thumbs to and fingers in an arched position to squeeze his muscles and release their tension* Just take a moment to relax, I'm sure we will find a way to rescue your friend.. *after a few moments of rubbing she tilted her head to the side and took a breath in to speak* Can I ask you a question? Something's been on my mind since you came back from that ordeal at the Armory..

Ascending Wood, 9 *Towering Oak sighed as he jogged down the path, his pack bouncing on his back. He looked up at the steadily darkening sky and decided that it was time to stop. He spotted a nice looking tree, one that looked like it wouldn't be bad to sleep under. He stopped next to the tree and wiped of the sweat that glistened on his balled head. He took off his pack and set it next to the tree, twin goremauls shining despite the rapidly fading light. He sat down and leaned back against the tree, closing his eye as the stylized sunburst appeared on his forehead. He didn't have to stop, he knew, he could have easily ran all night and the next day as well although a stop seemed justified to him. After all, he had been running for the last several hours, ever since he had stepped back into his manse after a successful day out in his city just in time to receive a message from his emperor, whom had seemed very distraught. Towering Oak recalled just looking at the image of his master, then briefly looking over the main controls of his manse to try and figure a way to respond before deciding that it was a better idea to get moving as quickly as possible, especially since his boss sounded rather upset, despite his attempt to disguise the fact. After all, Towering Oak had given an oath to assist Ress in anything he could, and Towering Oak had always been a man of his word. (7 successes on running for an extended distance)

I've been wondering, what if this is a trap? There are quite a few seamless actors and actresses in this world, how do we know that this being isn't one of them? You've visited before and this didn't happen that time, why the second time and not the first sighting of your returned master? It just doesn't make sense to me... *Arachnia stroked his shoulder as she spoke, finishing with a considering look and waiting for a response*

* Ress said nothing for a moment... letting the room become deathly silent.. before he finaly, without looking, spoke to Arachnia* You werent there Arachnia... if you were.. you could see the fear in that thing's eyes... you could also see that the thing conreoling it like a puppet was trying to distract me from its hosts cries with a "history lesson". I know what it wants just by its mannorisms.. it is a greedy being that is sapping my ancient friend of its strength to power itself... it also seeks to do... something.. im not sure exactly... but something with the treasures within the armory...... believe me... I know people... and although this... thing... can not be called a person.. I can see the evil within it... and the fear of the innocent it is controling......... if this was a trap... I would know it... and as for why this time.... this is when I showed my Exalted might to the beast.... it then recognised me... that is what I believe happened... my ancient friend is still a citicen of this empire... and as such.. I should be able and willing to lay my life down for him without a moments hessitation.... an Emperor is to serve his people after all........

*Arachnia kept her black stare on Ress as he spoke, listening and weighing his words. It was true that her Mate was better with people than she, but he was also fairly young.. She could feel her heart being torn between the desire to believe her reborn love and the fact that he was indeed young and that often made one more impressionable. It hurt her heart to know that he was so distraught, she would help him with what he wanted, but she would also be on guard for treachery. A hand went to Ress's cheek and she smiled at him* Alright, my Mate, but please, keep that option in mind. Just in case... I don't want to lose you again... *the thought of his death brought moisture to her eyes and they glistened with emotion as she fought it back*

Ascending Wood, 10 *Towering Oak sighed as he stopped in front of the huge central manse, towering far above him. He couldn't but chuckle about that thought as it crossed his mind. Towering was still smiling as he double checked his pack and Goremauls by touch. After assuring himself that everything was as it should be he took a deep breath and started through the large archways. As he walked he couldn't help but marvel at the construction of this first age monster of a manse. After a short time he approached the gate guarding the center portion of the manse, and without anyone around, the gates began to open. Towering Oak smiled and the stylized solar sunburst once again appeared on his forehead. Still smiling he stepped through the newly accessible opening.*

*Lirimana arrived at the usual increment, not having the speed or physical endurance to make such a distance in a day's time. She walked up to the closed doors and simply knocked. She wondered for a moment if Arachnia had locked her out, but with Ress in the state he had sounded, she figured the spider would be too busy being a mushy plaything to sabotage her arrival. Twirling the Third-Arm Glaive while she waited, Lirimana remained patient*

*Lirimana smiled as the doors opened and allowed her entrance. She simply walked inside, not exactly rushing, though she was walking a little faster than normal. Since the sky wasn't falling around them and she hadn't seen anything resembling that dream on her way here, she was more curious than anything. She decided to wander along a random corridor, not really knowing where to go. She had to resist the urge to find the hearthroom and examine every detail, not really wanting to piss of Ress or Arachnia. Creepy spider.* Where to go, where to go..
