Descending Wood 15,
*The full moon hung overhead and Arachnia made her way to the doors so that she could get some fresh air. She held her stomach in her hands as she took in a few deep breaths. She had started feeling uncomfortable very recently and was seeking the solace of the full moon's light. Opening the door she stepped out and rubbed her belly as she shivered while Luna's light washed over her. Her breathing became more labored and she felt her animal self start to take over. The Empress let out a laugh as she realized what was happening and smiled in happiness at Luna's blessing. Quickly she changed and morphed, her shape growing and becoming that of a giant Northern spider, her eight eyes gleaming.
Now enthralled in her mission, Arachnia turned around and quickly sealed off the door she had just left with her silk so that you couldn't see through it. As soon as that was finished she scurried to every other door and sealed them away as well. The last door was on top of the manse where Ress practiced his archery and there she was headed. The giant arachnid scaled the side of the manse and sealed off that exit as well, content to know that Ress was safely locked away in their manse. The silk was going to keep her important things safe, and so would she. With the sealing done she started patrolling the sides of the manse, scaring off and attacking any birds or other animals that dared come near her important things.
A few mortals that had traveled to pay homage to their Emperor and some to worship their Goddess saw the giant spider and the manse wrapped up in its silk. Quickly Arachnia ran at them, clicking her fangs and shooting warning shots at the people with her silk. The unenlightened mortals who had come for Ress ran away in fear and the few of her followers that had ventured this far reveled in the power of their Goddess. With her warnings, however, they were wary and took leave also, recognizing the ferocious guarding that she was doing as something of extreme importance. They stood on the edge of her desired safety ring, finding sticks and various other things that they could aid the protection that Arachnia was giving.
When the speaker of the caravan that had come by about a month ago rode up on her horse she blinked at the giant spider and paused. At that point the cultists came up to bar her way, telling her that she should come by another time, the time of protecting was now. A couple of hours after that the giant spider seemed to regain her senses and she returned to the humanoid shape of the Empress after scaring off a few more mortals on their pilgrimage.
Within moments of returning to her human shape Arachnia gasped in pain and began to limp up to the nearest door that she had sealed off*
Ress! Ress!
*Arachnia tried to pull off the webbing but failed to do so, the strength necessary just not with her at the moment*
Sentinel! Zeriku! Open this door, I need inside! Ress!
*Zeriku appeared next to Arachnia and dissolved the door block with a shot of essence. She sent a message to Sentinel to alert Ress of the situation and guided Arachnia to her room*
