Resplendent Wood 4-8
When he couldn't stand waiting for the sun to rise any longer, Dal staggered blearily into the early morning. Nightmares had kept him awake all night and he felt like he would have been better off if he hadn't slept at all. The streets were calm, houses were quiet and dark, the markets and docks were just barely becoming active. Shop owners were cleaning their entry ways and preparing for the day's foot traffic. As with all the streets in this city, most he had never seen before.
He came to a stop when he though he heard something coming.

* And as if rolled in by the tide itself, Roaring wave appeared beside Dal, accompanied by a ripple of blue aquatic aspected essence. The top layer of his skin glowed a blue, and fluxed with a lighter blue light as if there were a tide rolling through him, making it undeniable that he was a chosen of The Water Dragon. The look on Wave's face was not of worry... but more of concern*
" Dal. I have a bit of a situation here. I was able to lug back four giant squid carcasses and I need to get them sold quick... I have sold a quarter of one so far, but I am using all my ice to keep this squid fresh, and once the ice goes bad, the squid will go bad and I will be ruined and I wont be able to buy back my ancestral weapons from that pawn dealer."
* He smiled a little, though still betraying the worry inside him*
"As you may know, Tari and I had planned on living the lives of normal folk... but recent events have changed our situation and our minds. We just need a little help with sales... think of this as an investment... you wont be disappointed, I promise you this.... what do you say, Sun-Prince?"
(( 5 suxx at Manipulation+Presence roll to convince Dal to help with sales, targeting Compassion ))

*Dal Staggered and rubbed his eyes blearily, not quite awake enough to realize that wave had not just appeared out of nowhere.*
"... Wave? What are you doing here, the sun still sits in the horizon, uh... I was just taking a walk, couldn't sleep. Good to see you're feeling better.
*He rubbed his eyes again, and yawned loudly.*
"Squid huh? yeah, that sounds like something I could do for you. I've been trying to think of ways I could practice speaking publicly. I seem to have something, if I just... Concentrate, I can..."
*Golden light spilled out of Dal'Lumen, in the dark early hours of the morning, like a man made of sunlight. As he did, Faint wisps of anima sparkled and spiraled like eddies in a river several feet from the immediate source of light, some seemed to move like living streams of light, others were simply floating indistinct orbs.
Dal furrowed his eyebrows and shook with concentration but was unable to do whatever it was he was trying to do. He relaxed and sighed, the light that emitted from him slowly fading away.*
"Did you see them? I think I can control them... I just can't get the hang of it yet."
*He shrugged, clapped Wave on the shoulder and smiled.*
"Let's sell us some Squid brother!"

* Wave took a step back at the sight of the solar conjured specter, his glowing blue skin still undulation with inborn Terrestrial power*
"... That's weird... and kinda creepy. Be careful with that thing, it could scare people.......... anyway, Lets get to the market! Tari should be done sectioning off the squid to be sold."
* Wave quickly lead Dal off down the budding streets to the bustling grove of wooden crates, crude tables and vendor tents all filled with wares and holding the place for a proper open air market. Though the day was early and tensions were high in the empire. There were still many people seeking goods... though with great trepidation did they buy anything... who knew if the empire would fall and they would need the extra money to leave for Nexus, Lookshy or Great Forks... unfortunately, this was messing with the livelyhood of the vendors*

Resplendent Wood
.... And So it began, as Dal'Lumen and Roaring wave spent long hours of each day advertising and selling their large slabs of squid. In the beginning Dal' spent much of his effort improving his showmanship, and compelling pitches, he became more and more confident in his abilities to convey a message, or an idea to potential clients. Inevitably, no mortals could resist the power of a Zeniths personality and were convinced to buy squid like it was the last of it's kind in creation!
In the days Dal used his incredible powers of persuasion and deft acts of physical prowess to catch the attention of passers by. And as it grew into night, he would use his strange new power to light the Market with mysterious beads of light which drifted lazily through the air around the giant squid shop giving it the illusion of having magical properties. Soon the beads became dragon fly's made of golden light, Local children came in an attempt to capture these creatures, and their parents who would come with them would be pulled in to purchasing squid for dinner that night. Eventually Dal was able to create a near life sized giant squid made of light which gently drifted and swam several arm spans above the shop, creating a well recognized beacon in the evening sky.
He soon discovered he could impose his desired emotions into the crowds, making them happy, and excited whenever they came to his shop, creating desires within them for the delicious giant squid being served.
The days were long, and squid sold quickly, Dal was out operating the shop from the crack of dawn, to when he packed everything away at the end of the night. Until finally the last enormous Squid had been sold off, and along with it went the final shards of ice that had kept it fresh.
*Dal Sighed, and removed his squid soaked apron.*
"Well then, I think you should have enough to get your ancestral weapons back, and then some! I guess I'll return to the Manse and continue getting ready for the Trial, you and Tari come on down bright and early on the seventh day the wood is resplendent, and I'll get you to the trial no problem!"

* Roaring Wave sighed as he took a seat. tired from a day of hard selling and cutting up squid in showy ways. He leaned forward and gave Dal a nod, not bothering to hide the fact that he was tired*
" Looks like I was wrong... that light trick you had really worked... though if I never see a squid again, it will be too soon.
I can't wait to get my Daiklaive and Breastplate back from that pawn owner!
I'm in your debt... if you ever need anything, I am your man!
and as for the trial.. I'll be there."

"And my friend may we never have to see another giant squid again. I will see about attaining some sort of transportation, I would like you to go to my followers camp down the road from your house. I'm sure you know the one, they are the ones in the wagons. Until that time, I will be locked away in my manse attempting to focus myself on the coming trial."
*Dal'Lumen clapped wave solidly on the back*
"Go home to Tari, get your equipment and enjoy the next few days of calm before the storm. You will need your strength after the trial, I will expect to be training with you once all this calms down."
*He said with a grin.*
"I've heard many tales of the strength of the dragon blooded, I expect you will be more than happy to demonstrate it to me."
