* In the corn fields of Arania, the brave night harvesters toiled, working the necessary, yet boring task of bringing in the crop.
It seemed to be another slow and uneventful night for the Hodge podge group of fair skinned northerners and darker skinned southerners, had not the sounds of rustling in the corn fields alerted one of the harvesters.
The lone harvester soon gathered many others, who stood in silence, watching where the strange low screeching and growls came from.
creeping through the fields, a gigantic spider slinked out from behind the corn stalks.
This was like no ordinary giant spider one could find in the east. this was a strange mutant of sorts. One with a distinguishable head, apart from its thorax, and had an almost parrot like beak instead of mandibles. Its two huge eyes glinted in the light, betraying the fact that these were just two masses of smaller eyes surmounted on single black spheres. It had eight legs and a large thorax, much like normal spiders... but what was really odd was the mane of fur it had around its "neck". This was not normal for any spider that graced creation.
The harvesters screamed in terror, as they turned around and ran for the safety of the city.
The giant spider hissed and leaped away, revealing the large, man sized cocoon on its back*
